“Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed, All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned-every one- to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53: 4-6 ESV
Jesus’ title of “The Christ” shows his as the anointed and chosen one. Even before He was born, Jesus was meant to be born and be crucified to take on our sin: “For our own sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion,’Your God reigns.’ The voice of your watchmen- they lift of their voice; together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they see the return of the Lord to Zion. Break forth together into singing, you waste places of Jerusalem, for the Lord has comforted his people; he has redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.” Isaiah 52: 7-10 ESV
The word “redeemer” refers to a next of kin who would deliver, avenge, or act to preserve a relative’s property or family line. Jesus is our Redeemer in that He delivered us from our sins and protected us as God’s children.
