This is Part 2 of 5 in a blog series about waiting. Click here to read Part 1.
“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” Psalm 27:14 ESV
What do I do while I wait? If I’m supposed to wait, HOW do I do that?
“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
Psalm 27:14 ESV
Ok, so I should be strong. . . against what? Against the devil’s attempts to derail me from honoring God with my waiting.
- Get your armor on! (Ephesians 6:10-19 ESV)
- Submit your waiting to God (James 4:7 ESV)
- Pray (Psalm 25:21 ESV)
I should also trust. . .
- “And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:10 ESV
. . . and be still. . .
- “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him. . . ” Psalm 37:7 ESV
- “For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.” Psalm 62:5 ESV
. . . and worship!
- “Exalt the Lord our God; worship at his footstool! Holy is he!” Psalm 99:5 ESV
Notice that none of these verses say to trust and be still and worship once our waiting is over. We need to trust and be still and worship while we wait.
How will you worship while waiting this week?
“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” Psalm 27:14 ESV
Special thanks for my friend Jessica for this week’s picture!
