Join me for 4 December weeks of HOPE! Today is brought to you by the letter O.
O is for. . .
. . . Omniscient
It means “knowing everything”. “By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything” (1 John 3:19-20 ESV). And I wonder. . . what do I try to hide from God? Why do I try to hide things from God? Sometimes I feel guilty asking God for something because it seems small and trivial. . . but He already knows. . . and cares. Why? Because God knows the secrets of my heart (Psalm 44:20-21; Luke 16:15; Acts 15:8)
. . . Christmas hymns, reminders of promises fulfilled
– “O Holy Night“: “long lay the world in sinners and error pining”
– “O Little Town of Bethlehem“: The promised birthplace of a Savior (Micah 5:2)
– “O Come O Come Emmanuel“: The Messiah will come to Israel
. . . One
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” (Deuteronomy 6:4 ESV)
. . . Omnipotent
It means “having unlimited power; able to do anything”
“But Jesus looked at them and said,’With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” (Matthew 19:26 ESV)
“For nothing is impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37 ESV)
Genesis 18:14; Jeremiah 32:27; Romans 1:20; Ephesians 3:20-21
Merry Christmas!
