Friends in the Waiting

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV

Yes, another post on waiting. . . because I wanted to share what happened to me during the past five weeks of posting about waiting.

I was encouraged.

Family and friends who have become family called, sent texts and pictures, and shared conversation over breakfast (bonus fact: Now that I don’t hate my job and don’t want to curl into a fetal position on Saturdays, I meet friends for breakfast!). At the beginning of 2023 I decided to speak the truth about how I was feeling (click here to read the post), and in doing so, I opened myself to be available to accept encouragement.

And in those days when frustration and disappointment creep into my day, I can be honest about those feelings with friends and be encouraged. . . which then gives me fuel to encourage others.

In today’s post, I want to share some things I’ve received since sharing about my period of waiting.

So thank you to those who are walking in the waiting with me. You are encouraging me to be patient and hopeful, even on days when it feels like I’m standing still (who am I kidding, I never stand still).

Who can you encourage this week? Who can you allow to encourage you this week?
